This woman has been motivating others for decades! She has a passion for seniors!
Lindy Smith has been actively leading or facilitating group experiences since 1980. She is an AFAA and ACE Certified active older adult who teaches fitness classes and personal training at Lee Health and SWFL area continuing care campuses.
In 1980, Lindy began teaching group exercise in the Chicago suburbs when she attended a post-natal exercise class with her toddler and newborn. When the instructor didn’t show up, Lindy stepped in and was from that point recruited by her classmates to lead the class.
Teaching movement education at the local pre-school was her next journey until a family move from Chicagoland to Buffalo, NY brought a new challenge of working with children on the Autism Spectrum.
In 2000, Lindy became the marketing manager for a large outdoor industry company where her responsibilities were customer engagement and end-user experience. For 9 years, organizing large outdoor events all over the country was thrilling and gave Lindy the chance to again teach movement to adults.
In 2010, Lindy “retired” from corporate life and she and her husband moved to SWFL. Lindy’s wellness mission is to meet each client, student or group where they are. Movement and singing at any level of ability brings smiles of joy and inclusion.
